This Year’s Auction Will Help Raise Money for Make-A-Wish Foundation

A VIP package to a Milwaukee Admirals game, tickets to Badgers and Brewers games, a gorgeous collection of garden art, a Stihl chainsaw, award-winning trees, gift cards to numerous garden centers, nurseries, hardscapers, and landscapers—those are just a few of the items being auctioned off in this year’s Wisconsin Green Industry Federation (WGIF) Online Auction, presented by the Wisconsin Green Industry Federation (WGIF). It will be open for bidding March 17th and continue through April 1st. The auction is open to the general public at www.BiddingForGood.com/wgif.
And this year, for every item sold in the WGIF Online Auction, WGIF will donate $5 to Make-a-Wish® Wisconsin—the charity whose mission is to help kids from our state who are coping with a life-altering medical condition. Other funds raised will be used to support efforts promoting healthy and, in many situations, sustainable landscaping in residential and commercial environments. WGIF also supports endeavors to educate landscape professionals and the public on the environmental and health benefits provided by healthy landscapes in our environment.
Look around you as you travel through our state and you see amazing, beautiful, natural scenery but you also see tree lined streets, parks, green ways, landscaped homes and businesses with healthy lawns and a great variety of trees, shrubs, and flowers reflecting the undeniable connection between plants and people. Wisconsin is a vibrant, national leader in the green industry–the true green industry, the original green industry—the production, design, installation, maintenance, and related services in the business of living plants.
These professionals, and their products and services, enhance our quality of life and add value to our homes and businesses. All this while providing tremendous benefits to our environment by absorbing carbon, by producing the oxygen that we breathe, cooling our homes, cities and streets, providing habitat for wildlife, by providing a safe, living surface on which to play and relax, by buffering noise and visual pollution, and by providing a sense of well-being in our communities and in our everyday lives.
The Wisconsin Green Industry Federation is the single largest organizational representative of the Green industry in Wisconsin. The associations that comprise the Wisconsin Green Industry Federation are the Commercial Flower Growers of Wisconsin (CFGW), “Gardens Beautiful” Garden Centers (GBGC), Wisconsin Nursery and Landscape Association (WNLA), Wisconsin Sod Producers Association (WSPA), and the Wisconsin Christmas Tree Producers Association (WCTPA).
Think Green industry on St. Patrick’s Day as you place your bids, starting on March 17th in the WGIF Online Auction. Bid often and bid high through April 1st to benefit WGIF and Make-a-Wish® Wisconsin. Just go to www.BiddingForGood.com/wgif and go shopping.
